Man Needs More Than New Jersey DUI Class

Research has shown that for each time a person gets caught for driving under the influence (DUI) they have driven as many as 300 times and gotten away with it. That certainly cannot be the case for one New Jersey man.

The New Jersey man who made headlines after it was revealed he had been charged with DUI four times in five weeks has been charged with DUI yet again.

The 45-year-old Anderson Sotomayor was arrested following a traffic stop. This according to go.com. Of course his license was revoked and police were first alerted to his latest offense by a concerned citizen who reported he was driving. When officers caught up to him they noticed that not only was he driving erratically.

This guy is a real piece of work. When pulled over Sotomayor had an open can of beer in his lap and admitted to taking Oxycontin this morning. Not surprisingly he refused to take a breathalyzer.

There must be something else wrong with this guy, doing such a thing and continuing to do without regards or remorse for other people's life.

Sotomayor was charged with illegal use of CDS (controlled dangerous substance), DWI, Reckless Driving, failure to maintain lane and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

Just three days before this incident Sotomayor was spotted driving the wrong way down a one-way street, then hitting a curb and driving off the street.

Sotomayor was also charged with driving under the influence on April 9, 11 and 25.

Ridiculous History

In addition to the above-mentioned offenses, Sotomayor also was issued five summonses - not including drunken driving - on April 2. Police say that day, he swerved around a school bus as it unloaded kids, ran into a stop sign, smashed into a car and fled the scene of the accident.

His driving record includes two prior drunk driving convictions in 1989 and 1992. His license has been suspended 23 times and he's got multiple violations for speeding and careless driving. But his license was recently restored.

Is keeping this guy behind bars the only alternative? This guy is a menace to society and must be kept away from the steering wheel. Perhaps he will get a good New Jersey DUI class in jail as well as counseling that may get him sober.
