Could An 8 Hour Alcohol Class Save Whitney Houston Ex Bobby Brown?

Was Bobby Brown the bad influence on Whitney Houston or was it the other way around? There is no doubt the two fed off of each other’s addiction issues. While Houston has lost her battle with addiction, as long as he is still breathing, there is still hope for Brown. The fact is, however, Brown seems to be spiraling downward.

Brown’s most recent debacle was pleading not guilty to drunken driving according to the NY Daily News. Despite his not guilty plea (he most certainly was under the influence of booze at the time as you will see) he was slapped with a full ban on booze due to his bad boy "profile" and "stress" in his life.

Brown did not even appear in person, and his lawyer who had originally accepted the alcohol ban, returned an hour later to contest it. Even she seems messed up.

The "My Prerogative" singer was arrested March 26 after originally being pulled over for talking on his cell phone. Police smelled booze and Brown failed a field sobriety test.

His blood-alcohol content was 0.12.

The 43-year-old (5 years Houston’s junior) is facing three misdemeanors -- including driving with a suspended license.

Brown’s license continues to be suspended and he faces up to a year in jail. His “handlers” claim the singer had liquor in his system from drinking he did before he woke up the morning of his arrest.

The source said his handlers urged him to attend an AA meeting immediately to help his case.

Brown, who's due to marry the mother of his youngest child in the coming weeks, was busted for drunk driving in 1996 and sentenced to five days behind bars after crashing Houston's Porsche with a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit.

In 2000 he also spent time behind bars when he failed a drug test showing cocaine in his system.

For his daughter’s sake, I hope he can right the ship before it’s too late. I hope he takes an 8 hour alcohol class and seeks counseling. Attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings might also help him stay sober for his daughter.
